SPECIAL DIET RECIPE FROM KELLOGGS


FRUITY MILKSAHKE
Ingredients

* 250 ml 1 cupSpecial K® cereal
* 1 Container of peach yogurt (175 ml/ 3/4 cup)
* 125 ml 1/2 cup 2% milk
* 1 Small ripe banana, in chunks
* 3 Small ice cubes



CURRY SHRIMP
Ingredients

* 500 ml 2 cups Sliced onions
* 2 ml 1/2 tsp Minced garlic
* 250 ml 1 cup Finely chopped celery
* 45 ml 3 tbsp Shortening
* 30 ml 2 tbsp All-purpose flour
* 5 ml 1 tsp Salt
* pinch Pepper
* 5 ml 1 tsp Curry powder
* 500 ml 2 cups Milk
* 500 ml 2 cups Diced cooked and cleaned shrimp
* 75 ml 1/3 cup Quartered blanched almonds
* 30 ml 2 tbsp Chopped pimiento
* 750 ml 3 cups Special K®
* 45 ml 3 tbsp Butter or margarine melted

Directions

1. Cook onions, garlic and celery in heated shortening until lightly browned.
2. Mix flour, salt, pepper and curry powder; combine with cooked vegetables. Add milk gradually, stirring constantly; cook until thickened, stirring occasionally. Fold in shrimp, almonds and pimiento; simmer about 10 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, mix cereal with melted butter; heat thoroughly.
4. Arrange cereal in center of heated platter; surround with curried shrimp.

Directions

1. In container of electric blender, combine all ingredients.
2. Cover and blend at high speed until smooth and frosty, about 1 minute. Serve with a straw.



BANANA SALAD
Ingredients

* 250 ml 1 cup Mayonnaise
* 1 pkg or - Cream cheese
* 1 ml or 1/4 tsp Dry mustard
* pinch or 1/8 tsp Salt
* 50 ml or 1/4 cup Coffee cream or half and half
* 30 ml or 2 tbsp Orange juice
* 1 L or 4 cups Shredded lettuce
* 3 or - Ripe bananas
* 50 ml or 1/4 cup Chopped nutmeats
* 500 ml or 2 cups Special K® cereal

Directions

1. For Salad Dressing: Mix mayonnaise and cream cheese in small bowl. Add mustard, salt, cream and orange juice; beat until smooth.
2. Arrange lettuce on 6 chilled salad plates.
3. Peel bananas, slice in half lengthwise and crosswise; place on lettuce. Sprinkle with nutmeats and cereal. Top with salad dressing and serve immediately, or pass dressing separately. All a little colour to your Banana Salad by adding a handful of fresh berries, or chopped radicchio.
